S.A.M.S.

S.A.M.S. (Student Affairs MomS) is the largest online community and a top resource for mothers who are professionals in student affairs. With over 7,000 members, this network has allowed mothers to engage, motivate and discuss complex issues related to being a parent and working in higher education.

In 2016, Dr. Alexandria was a single mother and the only woman of color in her department at an institution of higher education. She often felt isolated and anxious about balancing motherhood, professionalism, and higher education. She created S.A.M.S. to build a community with like-minded people who shared her lived experience. S.A.M.S. now has over 7,100 members who are higher education professionals from across the world.
